I've had many surgeries. Which now I cut out carbs or I should say I eat things with low carbs. I have to eat foods high in protein.
The best diets to follow are diabetic and gastric surgery diets. They help with weightloss.
I eat very little a few times and day. I get full faster. Do not over eat. If you do you will get stomach pain and nausea. Eat about 60 grams of protein a day. Drink plenty of water through out the day. I hate soda. I do drink a lot of water. I like the flavor core water bottles. I will buy a whole store of them.
I always been picky and still am. Though I changed the food I eat. I used to eat pasta all the time now I eat chicken all the time. I'm always having deli chicken or grilled chicken ceaser salads. I do use lite or fat free dressings. I also eat protein bars. See other blogs on reviews.
A big question people ask how can you not eat pizza. I didn't eat pizza for 8/9 years. I got used to it. Just recently I found cauliflower crust at Trader Joe's. I made it , it wasn't bad. The cheese has protein.
I don't eat bread. At a meeting recently I was told about cloud bread that it is healthy subutite. I will post recipes.
If you are going to make waffles or pancakes get a sugar free mix or coconut flour. Which is healthier for you to have. White flour will make you gain weight back.
I was told almond nuts are good. I like unsalted peanuts.
Eggs is a high protein to eat for breakfast. I'm not an egg eater. I'm allergic mildly. Fish is high in protein I hate the smell of it. Turkey I've had though I like chicken better. Of course low sodium is the better choice. I love sodium and it gives it flavor. Also it is not as dry to swallow for me. A lot of people like peanut butter . I finally tried it wasn't bad.
Veggies - I've had sweet potato , cauliflower, carrots , lettuce, spinach.
Fruit- has natural sugar but I can only each very few pieces. I've had mango , pineapple , diet peaches. Though I really take one or two bits and done. If your going to make a smoothie or protein shake with fruit don't over it with fruit. Put a small amount in. I use the nutribullet iq .
I've done and followed the joe cross juicing diet in the past. I really didn't loose on it . I did it about a month or two. I do have breville juicer.
Another question buffets , cruises what do you eat ? Don't eat anything creamy I was told because that will cause dumping after gastric surgery . Don't eat anything fried or high in carbs. Stick to the salads and the protein meats. Oh that looks so good " I have to have a bit" no don't do it. Once you do it unless you have big time self control you will want more. Don't over fill your plate. Only take small portions.
Another question I had asked about an air fryer. I was told not to get one. Reason is because what are you going to cook in it that is good for you? Though a lot of people say they cook mozerella sticks , sweet potato, chicken in it. I never used one. When I made a sweet potato I baked it. I haven't ate fried food.
At first eating small portions can give you a headache but eat every few hours. If you eat a lot or high sugar you will get stomach pain or tired.
Weightwatchers I never done it. I had a friends years ago that did it. I was told you can eat anything on that and you add your points. Sounds stupid to me.
When you are diabetic or on gastric surgery diet one thing I hate is foods sugar free with aspartame. Aspartame has so many side effects. It will make you more sick. Look on the box of whatever you are eating and get stevia subitute products.
Don't wait till your dizzy to eat. I've gotten dizzy and of course once I ate I felt better.
Binge eating don't do. Yes you can be watching a movie or bored and you eat to eat. Not a good thing.
Another tip I usually do not eat after 8pm. Don't lay down for 2 hours after eating. If you have reflux you will feel the food come up.
I have lost 80 lbs . It feels great !
