Most of my friends know I auditioned for the xfactor season 3. It was a great experience. This blog is going to explain the whole audition process
Day 1 starting at 7am everyone must line up to get a ticket to audition and a wristband. The line was insane. People camped out or waited on line for hours. I say I waited at least 2 hours. I got there late in the day. I picked up my ticket , got my wristband. After you go home.
Day 2 good morning early. Everyone starts lining up between 6-7am. By 7am you better be excited, be up, and jumping. They started filming us singing and dancing outside the arena. This is where they had say we got the xfactor. It was awesome I met a bunch of people from some many states that traveled in. Others that have auditioned in the past told me there experiences also.
Finally we were let into the arena. Everyone was seated. I was there 7am-7pm. Make sure you eat, drink, sleep and are ready. They started auditioning, each section was brought down to the floor level. Then a line was formed. Everyone auditioned for a crew member in a private booth. I got asked questioned about myself. Advice you need outgoing have personality and have fun. They were impressed with my story and experience. After you will be asked to sing a song for about 60 secs. Well good news I made it past round one. Though I felt bad for some people I hung out with or seat next to that got cut. They cut a bunch that didn't have personality also. Half the arena went through to the next round half got out. Right after you go to fill out tons of papers. Then you get a call back time to come the next day for round 2.
Day 3 round 2 . I went back didn't see many people I knew from day 1 or 2. One girl I had met filling out papers I saw again. We sat next to each other. This day we were all grouped by category. Then each row was called up. One by one we got to audition for a crew member again. They liked me. Yay I made it to round 2. After time to fill out more papers. So I'm sitting next to a guy Jim. He was awesome we had some good laughs. We had to fill papers with tons of questions. We both decided to fill out the questions with answers silly and joking. Hey you gotta have personality. Whats your secret no one knows. Ha ha he put he had a crush on me joking. We had good laughs. Next we had to take our snap shots. Right after they cut another half of the crowd. We went straight to round 3.
Round 3 time to get nervous. OK time to audition for the executive producers of the show. I walked in all smiles. Hi how are you. I got asked questions about myself. Then I was asked to sing. After my first song which I'll admit I got nervous I messed up the lyrics but I kept going acting as if I didn't mess up. I was asked to sing another song not Broadway . That I sounded very Broadway. I sang another song. The producer says thank you . Then tells you call back for the next round you'll hear back in a month.
Round 4 biggest day of your life. I looked around no one I met was there. So many were cut again. My mom auditioned too. This day they had make up stands, everyone was getting interviewed. We first did a taping outside getting the audition number stickers. While getting the stickers everyone had an interview w a crew member. Then tons of more filming got done inside the arena. This day was from 7am-10pm. Every girl had there hair irons plugged in. Everyone was singing in the halls and bathrooms. This is the day someone can get on the show. I actually met Lillie that made it to the top 12 in the bathroom. I def was rooting for her to win. She was amazing. Eventually in groups everyone was called downstairs. Everyone had more interviews. Now they closed the show at 10 on the dot so many did not even get to audition, which was messed up. My mom was even walking on and they shut down everything. Well good news I got to talk to Simon backstage also. Everyone told me I was lucky I asked Simon to take a pic w me. A crew member took my phone and took the picture for us. I got to say hi to the rest of the judges too, but I only cared about meeting Simon the most. He was nice to me. I had met many people some got through to Hollywood. It was a great experience. I would do it all again next year.
The next day I was able to go see more auditions in process live. It was awesome. There is so many people that got no tv time and made it through. So much got edited. Even people sitting next to me got air time. I did a whole web interview too. It was awesome.
